CLARK COUNTY - An Overview

Clark County is located in the Columbia River Gorge in Southwest Washington at the head of the navigable portion of the Columbia River, approximately 70 miles from the Pacific Ocean.

The Columbia River, North America’s largest source of hydroelectric power, forms the western and southern boundaries of the County, and provides over 41 miles of river frontage.

Clark County is the fastest growing county in the metropolitan area. Portland, Oregon is just 15 minutes from most of Clark County.

San Francisco is 640 miles south, and Seattle is 164 miles north of Clark County.

From the Vancouver urban hub on the Columbia, the County spreads through a rapidly growing suburban band, across agricultural lands, and a network of cities and towns to the foothills of the Cascade Mountain Range.
